Christian Education Centre Construction - photos of the 1981-82 demolition of the former church/hall building and CE Centre Construction).  "Church members felt that a new, updated facility was needed... in 1981 the church voted to build a Christian Education Centre... Construction began with a sod-turning ceremony on July 5, 1981.  It was completed and dedicated on February 7, 1982... it features a large auditorium/gymnasium, offices, classrooms, meeting rooms, nursery, kitchen and storage areas... For a congregation to embark on a major building project in the early 1980's was truly an act of faith.  It was a time of recession, with soaring interest rates, and wide-spread unemployment.  Yet the faith of the congregation was rewarded, for within 9 years, the mortgage, which carried an interest rate of 19%, had been paid."  From "A History of Kentville United Baptist Church 1974-2009"

2005-06 Renovation Projects.  In 2005-06, the congregation again moved forward in faith and invested in the future with a number of significant facility renewal and renovation projects to help better support and enhance the work of the congregation.  These projects included: installation of the elevator between levels, foyer renovations, moving of the library from the CE Centre to the main level, office reconfiguration and renovations, the relocation of the prayer room and furnishings, new boilers, and a number of upgrades and changes to the worship space/sanctuary, including the installation of multimedia (new sound system, projector, screen, etc.), a new and substantially enlarged platform are (with space for choir on main level, praise team, and capacity to host various music or drama productions).  The total cost was significant, but the congregation through faith, sacrifice and generosity, paid off the balance owing in just a few years!
